Easyling release notes September, 2026

It’s getting more and more difficult to write these intros because there are so many things we released in September. We added over a dozen bits of improvement to the New Workbench, we improved the Dashboard and we added support for localising RSS feeds through the proxy. Read the full article for the details.

New Workbench improvements

The New Workbench is improving at breakneck speed. There are already linguists moving over to it, and kindly submitting feedback through our support, support@easyling.com. We turn this feedback into further improvements.

Collaboration

Similar to Google Docs, the Workbench is an application used for collaborating the translations. The new version can now be notified of changes done elsewhere, be it another tab, by another user or via the AI tools. When this happens, those updated translations are refreshed without interrupting your work.

Additionally, we added the different roles that the old Workbench supported, like the limited view for the Client role. This role allows users to view the content and approve or exclude segments. Collaborators can now receive these simplified views.

Visual Editor and Translation list interactions

Just like the old, the New Workbench has two different views. The Translation list shows the segments similarly to a CAT tool while the Visual Editor lets linguists edit the content in context. We focused on the experience of switching between these two to support the use case where the Translation list is used to quickly go through the segments, occasionally switching over to the Visual Editor to reference the context.

The new version now loads both of these views at the same time. This allows the system to switch seamlessly and quickly, without having to wait for the initial loading of the other view. The system also now gives you feedback if you try to switch while the target view is still loading.

Stability

There were lots of bits to improve the stability of the New Workbench. We fixed bugs, so that the Visual Editor doesn’t freeze after using a toolbar dropdown. You can also change the target language without it breaking. Additionally, excluding or approving an entry now always takes effect. The system retries failures in the background automatically.

Smaller improvements

Naturally, we added a few smaller improvements to the New Workbench too:

  • Bulk publishing is now available in the New Workbench.
  • The Search & replace dialog now shows its status.
  • The target editor’s background is now grey when it is disabled.
  • The colour scheme for pending and externalised segments now matches the Old Workbench.
  • Clickable dialog labels show a clickable cursor.

When to create a new JS export?

The JavaScript translation engine requires exports to function. These exports contain the translations and the configuration of the project. This means that in some cases, when you change translations or settings, a new JS export must be created. This month, we added a warning about the settings that need this.

Disable attribute translation

By default, the JavaScript translation engine translates HTML attributes. However, with some websites, this can slow down the system. For this, we introduced the option to disable this. We then upgraded this feature to still translate attributes in the head, only skipping them in the body of the document.

RSS feed localisaion

RSS feeds are a great way to provide updates to your visitors. In many cases, localising them can be highly beneficial. RSS feeds are XML files behind the scenes. XML translation has been supported for (almost) forever. Previously, this was only available for resources explicitly marked as XML via their content type. This month, we made this available for RSS feeds as well.

Miscellaneous

Finally, there were a few miscellaneous improvements:

  • We unified loading and empty states throughout the Dashboard 3.0.
  • The SEO override page now loads all the overrides.
  • We improves how APT marks active steps in the user interface.
  • We reviewed the wording throughout the Dashboard 3.0 to hide internal codenames, like Crest.
  • New events were added to the Audit log.
  • The crawl list now orders scheduled crawls appropriately instead of the time it was scheduled.
  • Dynamically loaded lists can now load more even if your screen is so tall that you don’t need to scroll. If you also use a 4k monitor, I’m sure you’ll appreciate this.
