Try it: Sales Tool for LSPs and freelancers

Jan 22, 2015 - Easyling.com

In a previous article, we showed you how to use Easyling for income diversification and get more translation jobs by entering the growing field of website translations.

Today we present our new “Sales Tool”, which helps approach a mass of potential customers with a click. The Sales Tool provides pre-translation of several websites’ landing page, and sends an email to the translator with a translation link for post-editing and a direct preview link for each.

Suppose that you want to approach a group of potential new customers, and you have already collected the list of URLs. Or, you work for one customer who has several domains. In our example, let’s target hotels in Orlando, Florida with English-only websites. Let’s review the steps below.

How the Sales Tool works

First, log in to your Easyling account. If you don’t have one yet, register and log in with your username and password.

Once you’re logged in, click on the arrow next to “Create or select project” to bring up the pull-down list. Click on Sales tool wizard.

The Sales tool wizard popup box appears.

1. List of websites: enter the list of websites - one URL per line. 2. Number of pages to scan: enter the number of pages to scan; the default is 1. 3. Default Source Locale: select the default source language. In our example, it is English (United States). Or, you can choose Automatic Language Detection. 4. Target Locales: select the target language from the list. You can add several languages by clicking on the + sign.

5. Machine Translation priority settings: set your preference of machine translation tools by clicking on the up and down arrows. (This is an optional step. If you do not wish to use MT, but your own translation, just skip this step.) 6. Click on “Start”. A popup box will confirm the request (“An email will be sent.”) Note: the first time you use the Sales Tool, click on the “Configure machine translation” link under the MT priority settings section. Follow the instructions on the “Machine translation” page: for the desired tools, generate the authorization keys or access info.
