Sometimes different language versions are required for visitors from different countries or regions. For example, an e-commerce site would like to list different products for visitors in Germany and visitors in Spain while also displaying the site in the adequate language.
In this case, the language and the content regions are 2 separate dimensions. How is it possible to to display different local versions with the Translation Proxy?
Here is a simple approach:
Use the domain name to indicate the language, and the URL to indicate the region.
With this approach, the content owners can provide different language versions for different regions in the required language, where the source of the content is always provided on the “en.company.com” domain (in case of English as a source language). This way, the translation proxy can easily pick up all the source while also serving the visitors with region-specific content.
Another possibility is to use the domain name to indicate the language, and use URL parameters to indicate the region (en.company.com/digitalcamera_
