Normally I would make a Star Wars joke here because Star Wars day, but Yoda judge that they are somewhat boring. What’s not boring is all the stuff we released this month! My favourite is that Path prefix overrides can now overlap. Read the full article for all the details.

Overlapping path prefix overrides

Path prefix overrides, as their name suggests, allows you to override parts of your website based on its path prefix. For example, we could override www.easyling.com/release-notes/* to change anything we wish. However, let’s consider the scenario where we want to override both /* and /release-notes/*. Setting it up previously would result in unwanted behaviour, where only the rule for /* would be applied.

With the update we released this month, we changed how these are handled. From now on, only the most specific rule is applied.

APT partitioning rules clarification

In Auto pre-translate, a seldom used feature is to specify path restrictions on what content shall be processed by APT. You can specify rules for all languages or for individual languages. Previously, if rules are defined both for all languages and a given language, those would be merged. Contradictory settings would cause issues.

To circumvent it all, we added a new toggle for each language. With it, you can decide whether to only use the rules specified for that language, or to only use the rules for all languages. As there’s no more merging, the rules’ application is more clear.

Miscellaneous

Finally, we have multiple smaller changes, in no particular order.

1. Translation scripts for basic publishing are now served with a Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy header to explicitly permit cross-origin embedding. This change enables the translator script to translate content within embedded iframes in some cases, particularly on sites that already enforce CORP for data leak prevention.
2. We updated the XTM integration after XTM interface changes.
3. We fixed an infinite redirection loop when user who is already registered with self-login tries to log in via Google.
4. We updated Crebbl to meet newer browser standards. Crebbl is the Chrome extension that can be used to translate your site in a restricted environment where other publishing methods aren’t available, particularly for internal portals where the site cannot be modified. 5. We fixed a bug where the translate="no" attribute and ignore classes weren’t applied to attributes when using Basic publishing.
6. Existing Work Packages can now be re-exported to external systems directly.
7. We fixed a bug where in the XLIFF import finished notification email, the counters for the different severities of logs would not be visible.
